Position Summary
Internal Trainer Responsibilities
The Internal Trainer is responsible for introductory/onboarding of new hires. Reporting to the Training Director, the Internal Trainer is also responsible to support the managers of his/her plant in the development of employee skills via computer tools or in the classroom. The Internal Trainer integrates and trains new employees and participates in the development of new employees.
ResponsibilitiesInternal Trainer-
- Train/coach production workers to operate multi-function process control machinery (and ERP system) through control panels, computer terminals or other control systems to mix, blend, cook or otherwise process food products, and to bag, box or otherwise package food products;
- Train production workers to monitor gauging and control devices to verify specific processing conditions and make adjustments to process variables such as cooking times, ingredient inputs, flow rates and temperature settings;
- Train production workers to set up and adjust processing and packaging equipment;
- Train production workers to monitor products conformity and ensure compliance to company’s standards and perform adjustments to equipment if necessary, and record production data such as quantity, weight, size and types of products packaged;
- Administration of POKA, including but not limited to, training video creation and paper administration for training documentation;
- Maintain a positive, respectful and open communication process with team members while maintaining a clean work environment;
- Informs Human Resource Director of any training issues that may negatively affect the production performance according to company standards;
- Follow all sanitation, food safety and workplace safety guidelines;
- Actively participate in 6S and continuous improvement projects when needed.
• Integrate and coordinate the arrival of new employees through a structured onboarding process;• Monitor the onboarding process for new employees: supervisor-workstation-coach-document;• Supervise and train the “coaches” in the factory in the follow-up of new employees;• Distribute classroom or online training: health and safety, food safety, technical or other;• Train, administer and promote the knowledge management tool: POKA;• Capture and validate training needs with managers;• Guide and provide the status of mandatory training to managers with the SuccessFactors tool;• Guide and provide the status of the flexibilities matrix in order to establish action plans for the development of employee skills;• Create or modify training material including guides on the POKA tool;• Collaborate with the different departments, in particular with continuous improvement;• Carry out visits to factories for employees (production / office) and visitors from outside Biscuits Leclerc;• Collect the objects and PPE of a finished employee;• Participate in updating good training practices;• Follow all sanitation, food safety and workplace safety guidelines;• Ensure complete understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices;• Actively participate in 6S and continuous improvement projects when neededREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES• Have a high school diploma or equivalent;• Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a computerized production environment;• Strong interest in wanting to pass on knowledge and skills;• Empower with computer systems (SAP-LMS-POKA) and the Office suite (Excel);• Ability to communicate in a clear and captivating manner;• Enable them to develop a relationship of trust with employees;• Demonstrate initiative, autonomy and availability (day-evening-night);• Have a good sense of humor (asset)
Requirements- Must be able to work flexible schedules and will be required to work across shifts; Minimum 1 year experience in the food industry is preferred;
- High School Diploma or equivalent education required;
- Experience in an automated, high speed environment;
- Ability with software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Demonstrate the ability to learn and understand practical knowledge of regulatory requirements;
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization;
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (internal and external);
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain employee confidentiality;
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, influencing by example.
