Warehouse Order Picker - 1st shift

Position Summary

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Order Picker is responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the shipping staging area in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity. Efficiently picks customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product are loaded and shipped. Assemble various types of products for shipment. The Order Picker is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders ensuring the accuracy of the products and their quantities;
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meet customer service standards;
• Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including fork lift, pallet jack, and handcart;
• Sort and store items according to established procedures.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Report quality variances.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into appropriate warehouse stations
• Operate forklift in performance of order filling duties when required.
• Keep appropriate record and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained;
• Maintain computerized inventory record, take physical count periodically, and check against inventory control totals using computer;
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety;
• Read work orders and received verbal instructions for work assignments;
• Stock shelves and keep stock clean and in sequence;
• Complete all tasks accurately and efficiently and to specified deadlines;

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent; Valid driver’s license (class 1)
2-5 years equivalent experience in a warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of acceptable training, education and experience;
Able to operate hand tools, forklift, ladder, dolly, scissor lift, pallet jack, hand truck;
Physically fit with ability to lift, lower, carry product up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand; Capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time;
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work independently, and maintain a safe work environment;
Punctual, hard-working, flexible, adapt quickly, think logically;
Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft office, hand-held scanners and printers;
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to work well with others. Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed; This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position within Leclerc Foods USA, Inc.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to lift from floor to waist 55 lbs. 33% of the time.
• Must be able to lift from waist to shoulder 55 lbs 33% of the time.
• Must be able to push/pull a maximum force of 54 lbs.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
